Following a friend's lead, I've decided to experiment in having both a LJ for mundane stuff and another for my writing. So -- here goes!
First of all, as a general overview of what I have ongoing and what I'm working on:
My first novel, Strawberry Winter, which I wrote three years ago in my last semester of college, is finally approaching the state in which I may brave sending it to a publisher. The sequel, Faerie Spring (I rather unwisely planned it as a series of four books, a decision I am beginning to regret), is being muddled through. Slowly.
I have one short story, "Mermaids Don't Drown" sitting at a publisher right now. I know it made its way past the slushpile to the editor, but I am very impatient and beginning to fret.
I have another short story, "Stitchery," a story of sewing, magic and French Revolution, that pretty much needs just a few polishing touches to be ready for the world. As well, I have four other stories in various stages of completion, on subjects ranging from modern day witches shopping for souls to a cat-filled house in Victorian London. I am, at least, writing more these days than I have for a long while, after I freed myself from a soul-sucking job and moved. I find it a little easier to concentrate now. I am trying to get five stories completed to put on the market, so...here goes.
